SEAGATE HOTEL & SPA | AMENITIES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE

ESCAPE TO A VACATION OF LUXURY AND LEISURE

Just eleven miles up the coast from Boca Raton, the city of Delray Beach sits along the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, cut in half by the Intracoastal Waterway. Delray Beach is home to 67,000 people who enjoy the waterways, the weather of South Florida and the beauty of the beach. This is the setting of the luxurious Seagate Hotel and Spa.

ARRIVING AT THE HOTEL

The hotel is unassuming from the outside, with white and tan outer walls and a corner entrance. Large windows are topped with striped awnings. Second and third floor rooms open to covered balconies that look out over the fun beach-town environment of Atlantic Avenue.

Inside, you walk into a spacious lobby with touches of aquatic décor, including a large blue-lighted aquarium and water-rippled sand texture on the interior walls. Cozy seating areas with couches and tables are tucked into the expansive room for conversation or enjoyment of a good book.

THE BEACH CLUB

The Seagate is not directly on the ocean, but it is so close you can smell the beach in the air. A few moments on a complimentary trolley or town car takes you to the Beach Club, where you’ll find oceanside dining, a large pool with a sun deck and access to a stretch of public beach that’s walkable for miles. Listening to the sounds of the surf while sunning by the pool is an indescribable pleasure.

By staying at the Seagate Hotel, you instantly become a member of this elite club. You have the privilege of grabbing a bite at the casual outdoor restaurant, having a sunset cocktail beside the sea or dining in the sophisticated upstairs restaurant with ocean views at every table. You’ll love the specialties on these menus: savory lobster bisque with cream sherry, crispy brussels sprouts and apple-cider glazed salmon.

THE SPA

Although the pool at the beach club is a perfect remedy for daily stress, even better relaxation is in store for those who make their way to the spa. According to Conde Nast Traveler, it’s one of the top 75 Hotel Spas in the U.S. The 8,000 square-foot facility is the only “destination spa” in town. Alongside seven private treatment rooms, the facility has a fitness center with modern exercise equipment and a Vichy shower.

The professional treatment staff specializes in ocean-based products and therapies. Yes, seaweed and shells make their appearance in the treatment rooms. The full spa menu includes facials and scalp massages like the pink mud subline scalp massage. Body treatments and polishes make skin glow and soothe sore muscles. The Aromatherapy Ocean Salt Scrub is a popular treatment that involves a gentle brushing of the skin with essential oils and sea salt. You can choose your flavor, beginning with the relaxing blend of lavender, rosemary and clove; or the detoxifying blend of grapefruit, cypress and eucalyptus.

THE COUNTRY CLUB

Guests of the Seagate Hotel also gain membership to the Seagate Country Club, home of a legendary golf course said to be the finest private golf course in Palm Beach County. Complimentary transportation is provided by the hotel, though it is just a short walk away. With the hotel’s Winter Golf Package, a two-night stay entitles you to an 18-hole round of golf with a cart through April 30, 2019. There are golf pros available to teach you the fine points of the game, including golf legend Craig Harmon, or you can practice your swing at the state-of-the-art practice facility.

In addition to a championship golf course, the country club offers Har-Tru tennis courts that are lighted at night. Tennis pros are on hand to help you improve your tennis game, too.

ONE LAST AMENITY: DELRAY BEACH ITSELF

You may not want to leave the hotel or the exclusive clubs, but if you don’t explore the quaint seaside town of Delray Beach, you will miss one of the hotel’s assets: its location.

Just outside the doors of the hotel, you can find a collection of upscale shops, unique restaurants and nightclubs offering live entertainment. Walk along Atlantic Avenue and you’ll be enjoying the charming streetscape of the longest Main Street in Florida. The downtown is known for its family-friendly festivals such as the Delray Beach Garlic Fest and for its famous 100-foot Christmas Tree on display during December.

The town’s art scene opens up to visitors and locals on Friday nights, when you can stroll through the Pineapple Grove Arts District and see working artists in their studios. Five times a year, the town puts on an event called “On The Ave,” a street fair featuring musical groups, an outdoor art show and delicious food offerings along Atlantic Avenue.

If you’re ready to visit, Delray Beach is just 35-45 minutes from Palm Beach County Airport to the north and Fort Lauderdale Airport to the south. Once you’re here, all of South Florida is yours to explore.
