Dreamland Beach in Bali is a popular destination among surfers, making it a must if you’re thinking of unearthing your wetsuit. That said, some will enjoy simply watching the surfers as they ride along the crystal blue waters that make this one of the world’s most beautiful beach destinations.

Harbour Island, Bahamas

On the northeastern coast of Eleuthera Island, the pink sands of this beach offer enchantment far from the more tourist-friendly parts of the Bahamas. The way the pink plays against the ethereal blue of the calm waters is beautiful—a picture of island paradise you’ll be dying to show your friends and family. The charming main drag just inland is the ideal spot for an afternoon cocktail after a day in the sun.

Trunk Bay, St. John

There’s something for everyone on this astoundingly beautiful beach, situated in Virgin Islands National Park—just one of the many scenic coastal gems found throughout the Caribbean. Athletic types can explore the sundry hiking trails that surround the sand, novice marine biologists can snorkel their way through an underwater trail, and the rest can simply relax and take in the natural wonder of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos

Inaccessibility is sometimes the key to a great beach. On the private island of Parrot Cay, the 30 plus minute boat ride from Providenciales (oh, and the whole “private” thing) keep the crowds at bay—meaning, when you stay on this island, you’ll get a whole lot of unspoiled beach all to yourself.

Honokalani Beach, Hawaii

If you’re visiting the island of Maui, a scenic drive along the winding roads of the road to Hana is an essential day-long expedition. Of course, after an hour or so of driving cliffside along the Pacific, you’ll want to take a break to enjoy one of the beaches near your destination. With its striking black sand beach, made up of volcanic rock, Honokalani Beach is ideal for taking a breather or a photo op. Walk through the sea caves along the shoreline and dip your toes in shallow waters as the waves roll in.
